How to Choose the Right Football Turf Cleats ? Review

When choosing football turf cleats there are a number of things you should keep in mind. As this kind of footwear is very unique and only used for field games so it is really hard to decide which ones to go for. These shoes have studs or cleats on the sole and they are designed for extra grip for greater performance and provide comfort at the same time to the players.

Shoe Material

• Leather: The most relaxing and strong cleats are the ones made of leather. Commonly they are soft, and have more room for the feet and provide better comfort and performance due to their higher flexibility. The leather cleats are usually more expensive as compared to others and are the ones which professionals use in football.

• Synthetics: These types of cleats are much cheaper than the ones made out of leather, although they’re not so durable but still they provide comfort and more protection to the players ankles and sole areas, and as compared to leather cleats they are comparatively easier to maintain and as they don’t cost much they can be changed after a few games.

Type of Cleat

• Molded: There are two main types of cleats available, molded and detachable. Molded cleats have studs permanently attached to them. These are specifically used for harder surfaces to provided extra spring and comfort.

• Detachable: The more expensive cleats are detachable ones. These have a range of 6 – 12 studs which can be changed to suit specific playing conditions. These studs can be of varying lengths, like short studs for hard fields and soft for wet. Detachable cleats are excellent for those required to play on a variety of surfaces.

Size and Maintenance

• Size: The size you choose is very important for better performance. It’s better to try the shoe with a sock on so that you can get the exact size and try getting the size that fits you perfectly.

• Maintenance: The extra bit of performance can be achieved if you keep your cleats free from blisters and the cleats just like normal shoes feel even more comfortable once you wear them regularly and with time they gradually fit into your feet providing max performance and comfort.

There are just too many brands that offer good football turf cleats. As every brand makes its products look more advanced and claims that they provide better performance as well as comfort. The tips and details given should be a very good guide for you in making your decision and choosing the right pair for yourself.
